TADA! offers advanced classes exclusively for Ensemble Members in music theory, dance technique, acting improvisation, movement for actors, and voice and diction.
The students are introduced to musical notation, sight singing and ear training, and rudimentary concepts of music theory overall. The materials used are textbooks, scores from current and past TADA! shows, Broadway scores and various arias.
The students are taught an applied basic vocabulary of dance comprising of ballet and jazz technique. The class stresses proper body alignment, coordination, and conditioning.
The students are exposed to exercises designed to free the imagination through various improvisation and theater games. Exercises are also designed to explore character development for specific actors in current shows.
This is an overall physical training for the actor taught from various points of view. It includes yoga, improvisation, and focus based exercises. The class culminates in the development of a personal, physical warm-up.
The students learn voice production techniques and theories principally designed for the actor. It incorporates extensive exercises in breathing, support, resonance, flexibility, and projection. Texts from plays such as Romeo and Juliet and Macbeth are also used to apply exercises.
