Director of Development:

TADA! Youth Theater seeks a Director of Development.  TADA! is a youth development, education and musical theater company producing original musicals performed by kids (who are part of our free year-round pre-professional youth development program) for family audiences.  TADA!'s renowned arts education program of classes, camps, and school residency programs are funded through by all levels of government funds as well as foundation, corporate and individual support.  The Director of Development is responsible for creating and fully executing a near million dollar annual fundraising campaign through institutional, government, individual initiatives and special events. The position provides stewardship and manages relationships with donors, including board members, individuals, foundations, corporations and government agencies.   The ideal candidate must research and develop strategies to expand these donor groups; be extremely detail-oriented; a creative, entrepreneurial thinker; an excellent writer with exemplary skills at achieving results; and a collaborative worker, who can be both a leader and a "do-er" while rolling with the punches in a fast-paced environment.  

Specific areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:
*Developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising plan and calendar;
*Maintaining relationships and communication with diverse sources of contributed income including government contracts;
*Identifying, cultivating and soliciting potential funding prospects;
*Grant-writing for new and renewed institutional funders, including interim and final reports;
*2-3 direct mail appeals each year;
*Fundraising events each year;
*Work with Board on expanding efforts in the areas of Board Development, Special Events and increasing funding base;
*Oversee a Development Assistant and Interns;
*Work with Business Manager and Managing Director on budget maintenance, projections (including annual and cash flow) and reconciliations; and
*Maintenance of Development Database (based on a Microsoft Access platform) and files.

Requirements/Qualifications:
*3-5 years experience in non-profit fundraising with a track record of success;
*Reasonable understanding of the non-profit finance/budget process;
*Strong written and oral communications skills;
*Positive attitude, hands on, "can-do" approach;
*Must be a self-starter and possess excellent time-management and multi-tasking skills;
*Occasional evenings and weekends required; and
*Bachelor's Degree (advanced degree a plus).

Reports to Managing Director and Executive & Artistic Director.
Salary $55-60K; Health and other benefits provided.

Teaching Artist Opportunities: TADA! is not seeking new Teaching Artists at this time.  However, if you would like to submit your resume to our Education Department for any future hiring needs, we'd be happy to place your information on file for our next round of Teaching Artist auditions.  Note:  TADA!'s in-school, after-school, and in-house class curricula are based in Musical Theater.  All classes are team-taught by a Director/Choreographer and Music Director.  Please send resumes (artistic, teaching, and/or administrative) and headshot (optional) to Rod Christensen, Director of Education, at rchristensen@tadatheater.com.  No phone calls please.

Internship Opportunities

TADA!'s internship program offers students a hands-on opportunity to learn about the operations of a renowned youth theater and arts education organization. We are always looking for smart, motivated people to join our team.  Send us your resume and a cover letter telling us why you're interested in TADA!. College and graduate student interns can arrange to receive credit and may choose to complete a project in conjunction with their internship with the approval of TADA!'s management and we can work around your class schedule. Please note: TADA! does not provide housing for interns.

Development & Marketing Intern: TADA! is looking for a Development and Marketing Intern to join our team. Intern will assist with various development & marketing duties including: researching grants, assisting with individual giving and special events, marketing, publicity, press and more. Excellent opportunity to gain experience in development and marketing, and be an active player in a great organization. Intern should be organized, computer savvy, dedicated and able to multi-task. Artistic Intern: TADA! seeks an Artistic Intern to join our team. Intern will report directly to the Executive & Artistic Director, Janine Nina Trevens, and to the Executive Assistant. An excellent opportunity to gain experience in the performing arts and be an active player in a great organization. Intern must be organized, computer proficient in MS Office software, able to multi-task, and possess the ability to function with a wide range of personalities and age ranges. The position requires working with youth and teens while assisting in rehearsals and Ensemble events. College credit available. Education Intern: TADA! is seeking Education Interns to support TADA!'s renowned arts education work through arts administration and/or direct teaching artist opportunities. In addition to providing hands-on assistance and observation of our Education Programs, interns will learn how to create, manage and produce effective theater programming for youth. Interns are expected to have a commitment to theater and education, provide administrative support to the Education staff, be well organized and have strong attention to detail, demonstrate computer proficiency, and commit to a consistent schedule for at least one month. Administrative Intern: TADA! seeks a general administrative who is eager to gain an overview of how a non-profit organization operates, especially in the areas of budgeting, financing and income.  Individual positions can be tailored to interns interests. Intern candidates must be organized, computer proficient in MS Office software, able to multi-task, and possess the ability to function with a wide range of personalities and age ranges. All positions require working with youth and teens and may include assisting with Ensemble events. Interns must be able to take initiative with a project and see it through to completion. Production Intern: TADA! is looking for a Production Intern to join our team in providing assistance to our Production Department while learning about the operation of a youth theater from a production standpoint. Intern will report directly to the production supervisor and works closely with all production staff members. Intern should possess demonstrated computer skills, preferably with MS Word and Excel, and interact successfully with a wide range of personalities including staff, artists, volunteers, parents and a cast of kids, on the phone and in person.
